Shooting Stars

In order to understand how the Shooting Star or Fireworks effects work we have designed a guide for installing fibers from ceiling to the LED fiber optic shooting star unit.

Like any animation or pixel picture, the more points you have the better the picture looks! So lets take a simple 3 ft Shooting star or comet.

If you use the Guide to pick the numbers of fiber points per "inch" the you can calculate the number of fibers to the modules you will need!

Spacing Guide:

  • 16 points per inch = 1 fiber every 1/6" or 192 points per foot.
  • 8 points per inch = 1 fiber every 1/8" or 96 points per foot.
  • 4 points per inch = 1 fiber every 1/4" or 48 points per foot.
  • 2 points per inch = 1 fiber every 1/2" or 24 points per foot.

So to calculate the number of fibers in a 3 ft shooting star with a fiber placed every 1/8" 96 p x 3 ft = 288 Fiber points.
